Nach ihrem Studium an der Sharif University of Technology schloss sie ihr Doktoratsstudium an der Harvard University ab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Von 2004 bis 2008 war Mirzakhani Forschungsstipendiatin am Clay Mathematics Institute und Assistant Professor an der Princeton University. 2008 wurde sie Professorin f\u00fcr Mathematik an der Stanford University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2014 wurde sie als <strong>erste Frau<\/strong> die Fields-Medaille, eine der h\u00f6chsten Auszeichnungen in der Mathematik. Sie wurde f\u00fcr ihre Arbeiten insbesondere in den Bereichen Geometrie und dynamische Systeme ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maryam Mirzakhani war verheiratet und hatte eine Tochter; sie starb am 14.
