Run for Iran – 100km for Human Rights

Run for Iran

A 100km run to stand for those who cannot run for their freedom.

On April 19, something special is happening in Geneva. Lyan is going to run 100 kilometers, not for a race and not for a medal, but for people who can’t run anymore. Some of them are in prison. Some of them are at risk of execution.

A message from Lyan

“Hi, my name is Lyan. I’m someone who can’t ignore what’s happening in the world anymore. I can’t stay silent in front of Iran, Sudan or Congo. Even if we don’t hear about it every day, people are struggling in very real ways. I kept asking myself what I could do, and this is what I came up with. On April 19, I’ll be running 100 kilometers on a track in Versoix, Geneva. It will be a lot of laps and a lot of hours, and honestly I would love not to do it alone. If you are nearby, you can join me for a lap or even just a few minutes. Just being there already means a lot. If you can’t come, you can still support the cause.

If you feel like supporting by running, donating or simply sharing, it would truly mean a lot to me. Thank you. You can also follow the journey here: https://www.instagram.com/lyan.kwh/

Why this run for human rights in Iran matters

Right now, a lot of global attention is focused on war and politics, but behind that something quieter and just as serious is happening. In Iran, many people are being held in prison without visibility, without protection and often without a voice. Families are left without answers, and in many cases the world is simply not watching. This run is a way to bring attention back to human rights in Iran and to those who are most at risk.

What Verein Welle does for human rights

Verein Welle works to document human rights violations in Iran, raise international awareness and bring cases of prisoners at risk to global attention. Through continuous documentation, communication and advocacy, the goal is to make sure that these stories are not forgotten and that pressure remains visible. Support from people like you makes it possible to continue this work.
