Lives of Prisoners in Kermanshah at Grave Risk

Dizel Amab Prison

According to reliable reports from sources inside the prison, the situation in Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah has become alarmingly critical on June 17, 2025.

All of the prison’s ten centers have reportedly been welded shut, and there is no administrative staff or guard officers present in the interior sections of the prison. Only a few guards remain at the central guard post.

A source inside Dizel Abad Prison reported:

“All the doors have been welded shut. There are no staff or guard officers inside. There are only a few armed guards in the interior guard section. The situation is very suspicious, and it seems like something bad is about to happen.”

This situation has caused great concern among the families of the prisoners and human rights activists. Some analysts have warned that closing the doors and evacuating the personnel could be a prelude to an incident or repression.

Currently, no official has explained these measures, leaving the prisoners’ situation shrouded in uncertainty. Concerns about the prisoners losing contact with their families and the lack of external supervision have increased sharply.

Shooting innocent prisonners

Yesterday, June 16, 2025, a missile attack targeted an ammunition depot near the Dizel Abad prison in Kermanshah. Following the attack, informed sources and families of prisoners reported a widespread riot and the use of firearms by prison guards. According to these sources, at least nine prisoners lost their lives following the incident, and an unknown number were injured.

Rather than saving the prisoners’ lives and taking them to safety, special anti-riot forces arrived and used shotgun pellets, tear gas, and other repressive measures to control the situation. Sources close to the families say that some prison doors have been welded shut to prevent any movement.

Prisoners and their families are calling us to report a worrying situation. Let’s be their voice!
